The Development Department administers the Bishop’s Appeal, FACE (Family Aid to Catholic Education), Propagation of the Faith, foundation relations, and major and planned gifts for the Diocese. We also offer assistance and support to the development programs of all Diocesan parishes, schools, and other worthy Catholic institutions and projects within the Diocese. OUR MISSION

Knowing from Luke’s Gospel that “the measure you measure with will be measured back to you,” the Development Department of the Diocese of Oakland is a ministry whose work is to help secure the financial resources needed to fulfill the Catholic Church’s God-given mission, while serving the Catholics of the Diocese by providing opportunities for them to share God’s blessings with others and to grow in His grace.

OUR VISION

The Development Department of the Diocese of Oakland will strive to create and serve a community of Catholics within the Diocese who recognize that charity is the greatest social commandment, who know that they are temporary stewards of all that God has entrusted to them, and who happily share their blessings with others according to the Gospels and the teachings of their Church.
